| Sigh................ I marked my calendar. Eagerly awaited the Launch of MyLawson.com with anticipation. I was expecting a streamlined portal/dash board for assistance from Lawson. An example would be, a list of my open cases, or an easy way to search for information. I was disapointed 1. it didn't list all my cases. have to go back and use support.lawson.com. Maybe i missed something.... 2. the site was SLOW. like driving 40 mph on on 65mph hwy that has no cars in front of you. Another poor execution... | | | |

| I was also very disappointed. For the Community, I was expecting some improvements. I guess it's too much to ask for them to at least fix the stuff that used to work like contributors. I think I'm about done with contributing to that site. No Lawson participation, the same questions over and over, consultants looking for answers that some poor customer is paying $200/hour for. | | | |

| One aspect of the MyLawson.com launch that I find particularly interesting is the integration. Lawson is finally discovering just how hard it is to integrate disparate systems into a unified solution. Gee, perhaps they'll be a bit more empathetic now... | | Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

| I have a feeling the management at LWSN, is the same as most other corp America places.
The DEADLINE is more important than the QUALITY of product (or the product's usefulness). Why, I guess Bonus are tied to DEADLINES, not QUALITY.
I remember a Movie from mid 1980, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091159/. I often refer to projects with impossible deadlines that sacrifices stability and quality as Gung Ho 2500. Just build 2,500 cars, doesn't matter if they are drivable or not.
This is also linked to the John Daly and Tiger Woods discussion. is it better to have showed up and played badly, or not show up when you know you can't play. But if you do show up to play, play to win.
I rather miss a few deadlines(torunaments), but deliver quality product.
Go Gung Ho 2,500 !!! | | | |

| I have to agree with most of the criticism pointed out here. I disagree, however, with k-rock's assessment that Lawson Community is merely "consultants looking for answers that some poor customer is paying $200/hour for". From my experience, consultants (at least the ones I recognize on there) are the ones answering questions. I also find this to be the case on other sites, such as this one (although John does the heavy lifting here) and lawsontalk.com. | | | |

| Well, if no one answers their questions, then they don't get paid, right? | | Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

| I just went through a Hyperion implementation where the consultants didn't even have a basic understanding of the tool. They all got paid a lot more than me and I had to teach them their own system. | | | |

| Ok, fair enough. I now understand where your frustration is coming from (your own personal experience with consultants who did not have the right skill set). During my time as an FTE, I ran into this often as well, and it is frustrating. More often than not I think you run into this with LPS, who's only experience with the product may have been a week-long certification program (if that). | | | |

| Boy.... a little hard on the new MyLawson.... I think it is about expectations. So, tonight my son wants to see "Space Chimps" - I will probably enjoy it because I am not expecting much.... I think the site has eaiser access to the information and makes more sense. I would agree that it just links to the same information but it IS a step in the right direction. I know that it is only a step but how many times do you want to implement something where the big project ideas gets in the way of making smaller improvements. (The next steps I heard are to make the searching more google/amazon like so that we can find resources/information eaiser and the version maintenance will allow us to search for any releases available for our current version that will make version tracking easier and more streamlined.) | | | |

| My expectation of MyLawson, I would say, reasonable. I expected to see at least the "same" functionality as support.lawson.com. For example, a list of my cases.
I could not see my cases. TWO Days later, I am still waiting for it to be fixed.
By the way, you should go see Kung Fu Panda instead of Space Chimps :)

| Support cases were displayed when I saw Lawson's
demo. I agree that it's a step in the right direction.
And, in order "say no evil" about my friends in St. Paul,
that's all I'll say. I think you should both go see the new X-Files
movie. | | Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

| I seem to remember that we were going to be able to track cases on the new mylawson site... I don't currently have any open cases so I guess I did not know it wasn't available. | | | |

| So, this is what Lawson Support said.
You must have the role of "Support Access" (formerly
"End User") assigned to you in order to see this portlet. I have added that role
to your profile. I guess they "forgot" that if the roles are equivalent,
maybe, just maybe I still needed???
Once again, I was eager to try it out, BUT,...

| The thing I found most discouraging was I used to go out once a week on Support.Lawson and go through all the cases that Lawson reported in the last week. When I went to do this on MyLawson.com I could not find them anywhere. That is where I often catch a problem we might be having that someone else had discovered. I emailed LIS (no category for those kinds of questions), and in the meantime found I could go into "Advanced" search and then they all show. | | | |

| Tracy,
I assume that you mean the search for new KnowledgeBase articles? (Advanced Serach under My Knowedge Base)? That is useful and I scan it when I have the time.
But I don't think that there is any query to show new cases from other Lawson customers.
