Is anyone using bin to bin replenishment within a given perpetual location? For instance, using it to break down bulk to a low unit of measure picking area. This would be instead of two perpetual locations with IC141 intransit transfers or having undocumented bins to achieve the necessary braek-down.

We have used the IC38 and IC138 for quite some time. The bulk bin would be defined by the "preferred bin" on the IC12, the LUM bin is defined on the IC38. If you are at all familiar with the IC12 replenishment processes, you should have no problem with the IC38. The nice thing about this process is that, location by location, you can determine which UOM is used to replenish your pars.

A few things to keep in mind:
1 - The order of processing is crucial to smooth operations. If you do not replenish your LUM bins from your bulk bins (IC138) prior to fulfilling your demand, you could create unneccesary backorders. Same goes for recieving product to your bulk bin prior to replenishing the LUM bin.
2 - The replenishment calculations for the bulk bin take into account any SOH in the LUM bin.
3 - This will now force a level of detail that you may not have used before...the "from bin."
4 - This is really only effective for par locations, but you can drive issues (IC21) from each bin.

          I hope this helps,
