  • DeeGreg Moeller Hello. I'm a former SAP HR functional analyst that has been recently hired by a company to work with Lawson. Their systems are still extremely manual, not integrated, and the company has purchased additional Lawson software (i.e. EMSS) that has never been touched. We are currently on ver. 9.0.1.8. I thought I'd check-in with you first before I post for some help from the Infor Community. My questions are very basic. Currently, employees are entered using HR11 but no Personnel Actions exist. Is entering new hires into HR11 best practice? Is it wise to implement personnel actions or wait and implement EMSS or upgrade to ver. 10 to achieve greater efficiencies? I'm in the process of reading User Guides/InforGuru/ERDs/KnowledgeBase and discovering/documenting the HR processes at each site (not much in the way of consistency here). I want to bring in a technical consultant(s) to help get us going in the right direction. If you could point me to some best practices or other relevant information I'm not currently seeing, I would greatly appreciate it!

    • Greg MoellerDee: I'm sorry, but I'm really not that familiar with our HR policies and practices here, so I'm probably not the person to really ask. Other than the HR forums here, I don't think you'll find anything better elsewhere... but that's just my opinion.
Post in the forums here, and you'll get some help or recommendations, or whatever else you may be looking for.
      Good luck,
      -Greg

  • Brenda Proctor I'm a Test Manager and I'm looking into the avaap automation tool. If anyone actually used this tool what was your experience? How long and difficult was it to set up and execute? What was the experience working with Avaap?

        Time To Rename LawsonGuru ?

With Lawson S3 and M3 customers adopting integrated Infor products, is it time to expand and rename the LawsonGuru Letter and LawsonGuru.com? I thought it would be fun to ask the community for advice. Here are some ideas: Filed under: Infor, Infor Acquisition

        Inforum 2013

I just returned from Orlando, having attended Inforum 2013. Last year’s Inforum, which quickly followed the acquisition of Lawson by Infor, was really just a combination of Lawson’s annual conference (CUE) with Infor’s name and logo slapped on for good measure. This year was quite a different story. Starting with the fact that I was actually […]

Coming Soon to a (Lawson) Support Site Near You!

Lawson morphs into Infor, continued.  You might have missed this notification, and I haven’t heard much noise regarding it. But I will share my insight. As a practical matter, this simply means that you will soon be using some different tools when you visit the MyLawson.com support site. But I also see a couple of […]

        Infor10 Lawson S3

I’ve told you before that Lawson’s acquisition by Infor would be interesting. Our first taste of this new combination is Infor10 Lawson S3 (quite a mouthful, isn’t it?). I’ve been attending various product briefings and user groups, perusing the documentation, participating in a lead adopter project, and receiving my usual eyewitness reports and unsubstantiated rumors.  […]

        Inforum 2012

Following the acquisition by Infor, Lawson’s annual conference (CUE) has morphed into Inforum, which was held this past week in Denver. I didn’t attend, but I watched the video feeds of keynotes, read the executive/analyst briefings, and of course received my usual eyewitness reports and unsubstantiated rumors. In addition, I’ve included some article links at […]
