We have a situation where the wrong vendor cat# was assigned to item A, then replaced/inactivated with the correct number. Now, we have item B that needs that previous cat# but it is causing nothing but problems - both items show up in requisition center when searching for this catalog number, even though it is inactive for item A. We aren't able to put these items on the correct contract in contract management due to this problem, the error is claiming that the vendor cat# is already in use by item A when we try to add item B.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems, in Contract Management or not. Thanks!

We've had this come up when dealing with duplicates. We typically use PO13.3 for item A (the one you want to die) and activate it. Then FC R (Replace) with some random value - we use the lawson number as the part number.

Click Change and as PO13.3 now lists your random value as the default value and has updated PO25.6s so you can now use FC D (Delete) on the one you want to die. This will now allow you to add Item B with it.
