    Hi Guys :)

I am new to web service creation in landmark. I am trying to understand what is a best example to leverage web service. i have never used it before.

    Thanks,

    Gokulkumar.

      Hi Gokulkumar,

Web Services are painful, not intuitive (to a non-web developer), and are very badly documented through LM11. However, LM12 is supposed to greatly improve the way the web services are built and how to find the delivered and custom web services. The theory is that every list and page is accessible via web service, but through v11 you pretty much have to guess how to use them. In LM12, there is supposed to be set of pages that will provide the documentation for each available service. I've seen demos of this, but we're not on LM12 yet so I haven't played with it myself.

If you aren't experienced with web services and with the Landmark objects, you may want to hold off for a while until the functionality is ready for prime time.

      Good Luck!

FYI - I just realized I mis-spoke on my first line.  I should have said, "[Web Services are] very badly documented through LM10. However, LM11 is supposed to..."

        Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Kelly I am on to it... i will keep updating my progress in it.

also i m wondering.. there are couple of requests from my business like to generate
          salary certificate
          experience certificate
          confirmation and offer letter.

at the employee self service level

i am aware we can leverage .rtf document template and providing access to that action at the sec class level.

Is there a way to get that done as a pdf output.
ideally what they are expecting is to get a pdf letter out of ltm rich client with a click of a button.

what do you suggest here for me kelly ?

          Gokulkumar.

            Hi Gokulkumar,

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that question. I don't believe this is available through the application, so you'd need to use a separate reporting tool.

I'd recommend posting this question directly to the Lawson Talent Management forum (https://www.lawsonguru.com/forums/hcm/ltm/). That group may have better answers.

            Good Luck,

Duh - That's where you posted this. Sorry!!!

However, it would still be better to post it as a new question rather than appending it to the Web Services question.
