7 minute rounding

Our company has employees enter their specific start and stop times.  Our previous timekeeping systems allowed us to set up a rounding rule for calculating minutes into hours.  What we want to do: EE clocks in 0-7 minutes, the time is calculated at the beginning of the quarter hour.  Minutes 8 - 14  = the next quarter hour.  How can we get PSA to do this?  If PSA can't do this, should we modify ET530?  Or something in between?  Is that risky?

I looked at this a little bit with the T&E/PSA policy editor, and you do have access to the MinutesIn/MinutesOut properties for each TimeLine, so you might be able to write a policy that uses those to change the hours associated with the line.  Another way to do it might be to do it in ProcessFlow when the timecard is submitted if you are using ProcessFlow approvals.

Thanks for your response.  But I need a little more info on the policy editor. . . .If we use the policy editor, will we change the permanent table?  We want to preserve the actual punch times (e.g. 08:03am) in the table, but have the resulting conversion/calculation be in .25 hour increments.

I looked at this a little more, and it doesn't seem that you can do this in either the policy editor or via ProcessFlow, since neither provide the capability to update the timecard lines. So this would probably require a modification to the T&E code.
