    HI,

Has anyone Outsourced the full benefits administration and benefits enrollment to a third party?   If so, what were the reasons for doing so?  Has anyone used Business Solver for this?  Does anyone want to share any feedback for having a third party administer your benefits?  We will still use the Payroll module within S3.

      Hi Steve,

We outsourced benefits one and a half years ago. We had been using a TPA for open enrollment and changes throughout the year. We went to using Empyrean as our source of record for benefits. To say the least, it has been painful and expensive. They send us a file every other week to update changes to benefit deductions. We have not yet been able to balance the two systems. So deductions aren't being handled correctly. There is also a significant lag time between updating the Lawson Payroll system. We've had to create some very manual audit systems and they only work if the end user performs the audit on a regular basis.

I've supported Lawson for nearly 20 years and have worked for much larger hospitals that use Lawson ESS and Benefits for everything. As long as your end users understand and know how to use the system, it really isn't that bad. Education is a key factor.
