One of the things I keep hearing about the Lawson Excel Add-In is that you can’t use it to upload to the user fields tab on the HR11 Employee form--particularly to update user fields that are not displayed on the first page (i.e. you have to PageDown to get to them). So, I decided it was time to give it a try.

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Can someone tell me where to get a done form for MOA to upload Lifestyle credits under "more" tab on HR11. I have a excel doc with employee number and a amount and want to do them all at once. I have not used this before live, we are ISeries, 9.0.05 Apps.

If you are looking for a one-time solution, I've temporarily renamed a user field to do an upload, i.e. aaauserfield, so it will be at the top of the list, run my upload and then change the name back to its original value.

I have a upload file that will allow me to load data into the first four user fields on the HR11 using change and it works great if there is data already in the fields but if one of the fields is blank, it will not load the data. It does, however, give me a change complete continue which means that I have to go in and check each of the employees to determine if it really did load or if there are any blank fields. I am populating the fc field for each line and it will let me use the C but it will not let me do the add as a change since there are other user fields populated. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?? Thanks

I have had similar issues in the past.  I have done user field changes a couple different ways and to do it effectively on HR11 you need the field key of the user field and it has to be uploaded in a very specific way.

I have found it much more effective to use PA52 to upload user field data.  It may seem like an extra step because HR11 can be done immediate but with PA52 you do not need to worry about all the other things that uploading user field to HR11.  It is easy enough to create a PA50 action for user fields and if it is something you do all the time, then you can create multiple PA50 actions if you prefer, I personally just would have one PA50 action and add in whatever user field(s) I need to change when I am doing the upload.

There is also the option of uploading to HR15.1 but I still (just my opinion) this PA52 action is the "cleanest" way to update the user fields.
