Nonstock orders

    Has anyone devolped a good method to prevent duplicate nonstock orders ?

     

    We are trying to determine a good way to keep items from being ordered if they are already on order. Two means of ordering are 1.  Pyxis stations, which will kick out another order if the item has not been filled in a certain amount of days. And 2. handheld orders, the handheld ordering of nonstock is tricky as it could take up to 2 weeks to receive product in, in the meantime the item gets ordered again by different staff.

     

    Looking for a method to keep track of whats on order so we don't order it again.

      Check with Carefusion, our Cath Lab has their non-stock Pyxis set to wait. They have to deliberately go in and tell it a line has been cancelled or the machine will never request it again. This was a base setting the company had to change for them.

      I do not know of anything similar for MSCM non-stock.

        Ok, thanks we have thought about increasing the wait time for orders to go out again, we will check into your suggestion. Appreciate it!

          MSCM has the Q.O.O. field that shows if there's a quantity on order. This is displayed on the handheld screen so your staff can see if the supply is on order.

          But I would think there's an ability for Lawson to give feedback to Pyxis. We use Qsight in the Cath Lab. When their staff creates a replenishment order it comes over as an RQ500 flat file with a Qsight reference number in PO User Field 6. The reqs are processed and each night a PO data file is sent back to Qsight with that reference number and the corresponding PO number. Until the supply has been received in Qsight the system will not create a new order.
