Is any one currently running Lawson to create requisitions for a Just in time Hospital ?

We are a 300+ bed hospital converting to Lawson and I was just trying to get a handle on how the application handles requisitions for stock items (I) that need to be routed directly to the vendor.

Is there a flag on the template to force an (I) item to an (N) item ?

    Thank you

Hi - We are Just In Time. We have 6 hospitals each with a central supply room that stocks the nursing units.

Our inventory location (Central Supply for us) has a separate IC02 from the rest of the hospital. Example: Memorial Hospital Miramar has IC02 MHM - this is where all the non stock locations are tied to on RQ01. When a user from that req loc orders in RQC, everything is N or X. We do not have any IC12 records for MHM. The vendor is determined by whichever PO25.6 is not on hold or whichever vendor the user keyed in for specials.

Their central supply has and IC02 M and a requesting location M that is tied to it. When they run IC142, it reorders from the vendor as item type I. All their items are in IC12 and marked "Inventory Tracked" Y.

If a user from one of the other req locs needs to pull in an item from M instead of reordering it, they need to use a template. Templates are created in PO15 and there you can override the default from location and say this pulls from M. This req creates a pick ticket instead of a PO.

        Thank you for the response

My original post was a bit misleading .

Early in 2001 we went "Just in time" with Lawson . In 2012 we moved from Lawson to Aperek and over the past 5 years my Lawson memories have severely diminished .

Your response cleared out some of the cobwebs . We were using a similar set up back in 01

I should have my hands on the test database in a couple of weeks

thank you again for the reply
