Sending Bin Location Data to Epic

We send the bin locations only for the items that are tracked in inventory. Everything else is up to them to manage. For things where they might want to have more than one item in a "bin", we tell them that Lawson has to have a 1 to 1 relationship. Its the same argument I've used for keeping their billing codes out of Lawson. Since the markup could be different depending on where it is used, I've successfully kept it out of my item master.

We were managing the bin locations in Lawson and feeding them over to Cerner, we have now changed so they reside in Cerner only. They can manage their bins now without having to ask us to make the change and wait for the new data to interface in.

I lost the bin battle here - I hope you win yours. I had a special security class created with IC15 and IC12 restrictions and made them responsible for maintenance. We will do the bigger uploads for them, but the bin on their IC12 is their responsibility.

Interesting. We have our supply closets defined in IC81 which sends data to EPIC nightly. Since IC81 is managed by Materials Management, we can keep things standardized and up to date on our own.

Our admins are struggling with figuring out how to create the special security classes to allow users to have change access to certain fields only.  If you know how it's done or have a contact we can reach out to that would be greatly appreciated.

Since it sems impossible for clinical to standardize on the EPIC deployment (we run 5 instances across the enerprise) we do both...

Some locations maintain bin locations in EPIC, for those I interface IC12 records. IC12's are maintained exclusiveley by the master data team.

For locations requiring bin detail, I send IC81 locations, since this data can be maintained at the facility. IC81 locations are mapped to EPIC Inventory Locations and prioritized so they print correctly on case picks

Currently interfacing to OpTime and Cupid.

This seems to be meeting the need at the moment.

Good morning
We are implementing EPIC at our hospital and I need to know how the inventory items need to be set up in Lawson. Is Epic pulling from the IC12 inventory locations in Lawson? I was asked to combine 3 of the OR departments into one location, but each of those OR Departments have different Cost Centers. When setting up inventory locations in Lawson we have to put a cost center in IC02.
Has anyone else come across this issue if so how did you resolve it?
I need to set up three different locations:
The OR locations
The CathLab location (which will include IR)
The non-procedural items
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
