Opti-Freight and Matching

    We are looking at using Cardinal's Opti-Freight program and our AP and Finance are wanting to make sure that:
    1) Freight Costs for Inventory items are properly associated to the item's cost and passed on as part of the unit cost when issued to the department

    2) Freight Costs for all other types are viewable via the departmental Expense Reports i.e. AP520, RW100 Monthly Financials etc

    I cannot seem to get this to work without changing our Pool Option to 1-Company/Vendor, which then makes Smart Recon useless.

    Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Have asked Opti-Freight people to put me in touch with other Lawson customers of theirs to see how they are handling, but have yet to get a response.

      Hi, I know this is a very old thread, but does anyone have any input on the Optifreight and how it is working for your facility.

        We have a PO Listing that goes daily to Optifreight with the AU from the PO Line. This is what they use to mark-up the invoices and how AP posts the invoice. It works fine for us as long as the vendors put the POs on the shipments - we've got about 5% that go astray on any given invoice and have to be looked up manually.

        We have a "shame report" that gets sent out to users to show that their priority/signature/Saturday requests are not always as necessary as they think and overall we're seeing a reduction in freight costs. It is a constant project though.

              I've been with 2 health systems, and both had GPO contracts with Fed Ex with noticeably better rates than opti-freight. just a FYI.
