Benefits would like to secure HR13 such that the data is visible but only one or two fields will be available for change; no adds and no deletes
The active flag is the field in question.
I'm looking for an approach that doesn't require touching all fields if that is possible.
On the form, you have to grant update at the token level (HR13.1) right? So, to remove update for all the other fields would require touching all the rest.
Does it work the same at the table level? Do you have to grant update to EMDEPEND and mark all the other fields as inquiry? It seems like I'm missing something here.
TIA,
Karen

Hi Karen,
Yes - my understanding is that to change all fields but one in the screen to inquiry-only, you have to touch all of those fields. It should be possible to do in 15 concentrated minutes or so.
Regarding table access, that's easier. Any type of access to the tables that's controlled by LS9 is inquiry only, through Microsoft Add-ins, Crystal Reports, etc. You can grant full access to tables in LS9, but nothing can be updated directly at a table level (otherwise there would be a risk of harming the referential integrity that Lawson carefully guards with screen access, so updates are only allowed via screen-type access). You can grant full access to EMDEPEND and not be concerned about updates.
Best regards,
Dave
