Backposting entry

    Why my system does not allow to backout the journal entry eventhough I opned the period for backposting allowed

      This is standard functionality. Once the period is closed once, you cannot back out an entry.
      Instead, i suggest you use GL40 to copy the entry with reverse values.
      (click on New JE, then click copy and select reverse values as you create the entry)

      Please note also that if you use activities, you shouldn't be backing out entries ever - you'll need to copy and reverse.

          You can backpost your entry if your period is "Limited Close". If it is "Final" closed you cannot backpost an entry. to check whether the period you are posting the entry is Limited or final close go to GL10.2 , which you may have to go to Gl10 and click on the Backpost button to go to GL10.2.

          If this is limited close you should be able to backpost into that period.
