I'll apologize first because I don't even know if this is the appropriate place to ask this.

I come from a pretty heave database and development background, but this is the first time I've had to get in deep with Lawson. My boss has asked for a report of active AP vendors with information like payment terms and invoice history. I thought it would be relatively straightforward to locate this information, but I was not counting on the data organization in the Lawson DB being so... non-intuitive. No foreign key relationships, inexplicable complex primary keys... I could go on, but I'm sure most people who are still reading this know what I'm talking about.

So is there a data diagram of how this stuff links together? A plain-english description of the various columns of data? A simple "how-to" guide to start into this?

Jeremy - I can feel your pain and empathize. I'll provide a couple of suggestions:
      - if you check the Lawson Guru menu - ERDS - you will find some conceptual Lawson financials data models - including one for AP. This should orient your around the major AP entities.
      - other resources can be found at the Lawson Knowledge Base site - where you can find:
      - Lawson AP user guide
      - Lawson AP Data File Text - a "data dictionary" of sorts
      - Lawson AP Technical Text - which outlines the data entities referenced by the various AP programs.

The report you are looking for - may already exist in some form - so I would go through the AP User Guide in relation to vendors and first see what stock reporting might be available.

Good luck and welcome to the jungle.
