I am new to Lawson GL and would like to combine information from the GL tables to look at the linkages between the various tables. Does anybody have a general query that shows the joins between the glmaster, clchartdtl, glchartsum, glchart, glnames, and glamounts.

    Thank you,

The easiest way to do this might be if you have add-ins you can look at all the relationships there.

      Basically

GLCHART is the Chart of accounts Name it links to GLCHARTSUM by CHART NAME this table holds the summary accounts and roll ups for the chart of accounts. This table links to GLCHARTDTL by Summary account, each detail account (posting account) falls under the roll up of the summary account. GLNAMES is your Accounting Unit that links to the totals by year, month, account, au in GLAMOUNTS.

        Thank you.

I am looking to understand the rollup structure and also the account relationship structure.

Like I said I am new to Lawson. It looks to me like the the hierarchy information is in the glnames table with the level fields and the level depth field. What is the obj_id in this table used for?

It looks like the glchartsum tables contains the relationship between accounts to produce rollups and the position on a report. My guess is that seq_number, parent_obj_id, and depth are used for these rollups. What are the fields sumry_acct_id and obj_id used for in this table?

Any confirmation or help in understanding this information is appreciated.

Go to https://www.lawsonguru.co...ch/DatabaseERDs.aspx (on this site) and click on the 'General Ledger' link...you will see how the tables are related.

Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
