What does it mean when in Upload Wizard a dialog box pops up with the title "Lawson_Upload Wizard" and a message of "Type mismatch"?

It means you are trying to upload a field format that is different to
      the database field format.

It probablly means you are trying to upload to a file or screen, a data value which does not match the field format/value. E.G. an alpha value to a numeric field.
When specifically do you get the pop up? At the point you are actually uploading? Or upon initial log on?

It’s the data in the field that has a mismatch. Ex. a alpha in a numeric field.

            Roger,

Thanks for your reply.  I am seeing the message when I open a previously saved Upload Wizard file, *.uwf, and am also seeing the message again when I attempt to define a new upload to the AC10.  What is curious, when on the Map Columns tab of Upload Wizard, is that I don't see the message when I click on the AC09.  It almost appears that there is form of security placed on the AC10.

So in my case, I have yet to map to any Lawson Field on the AC10 and think I can rule out the data value or type.  When I do say OK to the dialog box and then click on the Lawson Field dropdown under the AC10, all that appears in the dropdown is a blank row and "Left Column Check".

            Jeff

I have also seen it when you are opening a .uwf that was created in a previous addins version. It usually can be ignored, just review the mappings and save a new copy.

                Hey folks,

Was there any resolution to this problem?  I have a user that is experiencing this problem on our upgrade environment.  On that environment, we have LASE currently turned off and there are no restrictions in LAUA.

For example, LP31, if you open the upload wizard, navigate your environment/productline structure to LP31.1 in Absence Management, as soon as you click on the program is gives the Type Mismatch error.  There are also quite a few programs that experience this, while others work without a problem.

I've done a xscrgen and opened up the $LAWDIR/prodline/map directory in case that was causing any problems, but the user is still experiencing the problem.

                Any thoughts?

                  Hello Randall,

There is a trick to getting a query (dme) or upload wizard (uwf) to point to different environments. Most folks get the type mismatch error and then just rebuild their dme or uwf files. Here is the easy way to point add-ins to a new product line

                  1) Log into the add in with the url of the new environment. You will get the type mismatch error.
                  2) Change the product line to your new environment; example TEST
                  3) Save the query or dme with a new name and exit out of the add in
                  4) Log into the add in again with the url of the new environment - your query or dme will be pointed to the right place

Note if you are going from one version of Lawson to another (803 to 90) upload wizards need to be remapped.

Are you are opening uwf files that were created against your old server? If so, you should be creating new ones.

If you are trying to use .uwf or .dme files that were created in a different product line you should be able to open the files using notepad, search for your product line name and then change it to the new product line name. I've used this approach to get around the "type mismatch" error.

We've see all of those plus one other. We had to go back and make sure that the Data Area/ID field was filled in on the Lawson Environment tab of the User Maintenance screen in LSF 9 security. It didn't matter in 8, but seems to matter in 9.
