Hi All
This is on 8.1 0 MSP5 on LSF9.0.0.4
We have just recently started using the Activity module. The initial setup had been very simple and works fine.
We would now like to track certain complex projects (like Major Refurbishment projects etc).
When trying to setup the various Activities I find that I am not able to use Activities across the summary level.(see attached document for an example setup we would like to be done.)
e.g We are having to duplicate activities , Level4 TUNBCONS,BRENCONS...
Similarly at Level5 - TUNBFEES1,TUNBFEES2,BRENFEES1,BRENFEES
I dont mind having separate summary levels but looks like we cant share the Posting level activity also or Am i missing a step
Thanks for the help
Saurabh

Activity Management requires that the posting level activities remain unique within each activity group. You will not be able to share any posting level activities. Even the name of the activities should be uniques.
The reason is to track indiviual activities as far as budget, actuals and commitments, they would need to be applied to activities that are unique.
If there are summary level activities you can define your structure in a way that they do not have to be duplicated.

Thank Ruma.
In my case my Third Summary level was the Site. If i removed that then i could potentially get away with not having to duplicate the activities under that level. However the problem then would be that i would not have a way of summing up the Activities related to the site.
i.e Tracking the various Builds or refurbs in the Hospitals (in my example Leicester,Brentwood..)
Looks like i will have tp create different Level4 and level5 activities (which will be copies , except for the name)

AT the third level your summary activity can be site. Under this you can then build your 4th levle to be the different sites. Then under each site you can build an account category summary level called construction and Fees and add it to each level.
