We just moved onto 9 Portal and I would like to find a way to sumbit jobs without having users' hands leave the keyboard.  Lawson says the only way to submit is to click with one's mouse on the submit button, but I'd love to find a way so hands can stay at keyboard. Thank you.

Well... I don't know of a way to not use the mouse. But, you can create a bookmark that the user have to use the mouse to click to submit jobs, I can share that if you like

Have you considered voice commands? (Or perhaps foot-control? ... J/k)
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

What you need to do are the following.
            1. create a job in jobdef or a batch job screen (ex. ap150)
            2. create a bookmark (you may need your system admin to do this like the one below.
            http://SERVER_id/cgi-laws...&USER=FinanceUserOne
            3. assign / grant you the bookmark.

You can also create bookmarks that will take you to the Job Scheduler and Print Manager.
            reports/jobschedule.htm
            reports/printfiles.htm

Let me know if you need more details. Send me an email

1.)Would one bookmark work for any ap150 submitted by a user? Say they use jobnames A150 and AP150Daily and AP150Weekly - do you need 3 separate bookmarks, or does it just need one bookmark that would work for any AP150 a user wants to sumbit?

2.)Could all users in a given security class be granted access to one bookmark for AP150?

3.) even tho a bookmark is submitting a job, a certain unique user will be submitter and the job will appear in print mgr under that user's name, right?

4.) is there a hot key to get right to bookmarks?

              This is cool. Thank you.

                1. You need three separate jobs for each users. It needs to be a distinct User/Job pair. OR,

                2. you can set up one job with a generic user, and grant security to all users you want to allow to run that job. so yes.

                3. Yes

                4. I am going to wait for you to come up with the hot key, mpovey, my users like to use mouse clicks.

We have the same need. Our users have been on LID for over 12 years and are heavy keyboard users and are use to just keying Alt+S+Enter keys to submit a job. The only work around we have found so far that comes close is to position the focus in the job name field and then press and hold Shift key then Tab key four times. This will move the focus to the Submit button. Does anyone have a better solution?
