It appears that by default Lawson will not allow an individual to set their own security proxy. This makes sense perhaps for most approvers, but Directors, Dept. Heads, etc. should be able to easily set their proxy before they go on vacation without requesting Finance or IT to do it for them within the process flow.
Approvers are defined/assigned using the ProcessFlow Administration Tool. Is there any other way that you have seen customers setup security proxies for a high level executive when they are out of the office other than defining them in the Process Flow Administration Tool?
Is Proxy capability only available from within Lawson Talent Management and therefore only within Landmark?

We built a process 5-6 years ago to handle this. It's comprised of some COBOL screens using custom views of Logan BPM tables. It lets users proxy their approver tasks to another individual for up to 30 days, using a predefined set of rules (proxies can only be lateral to another user within the same management chain, or upwards to their supervisor).
The individual user is responsible for adding their proxy to a screen, system updates BPM overnight and we (IT) don't have to get involved. We prob do 300-400 proxies every month.

Thanks Tim. That gives us one idea.

Tim,
Any chance you would be willing to share that Proxy code with a non-profit public sector entity?
