Hello
Anyone ever figure out if you can use the MS Add-ins to make changes on HR10?
Thanks.

It works -- you just need to map the correct field number to the (hidden) field number (_f6).

Thanks. I had been noodling with this but couldn't discern the difference between f5 and f6 on the HR10 upload screen. Do I really need both?
I know that I need FC (f9), company (f3), and change via personnel action(f11).
Do I need item name(f10) or would f5/6 take care of that?
Thank you for the quick response!

You just need f3, f9, f11, and f6.

Coffee must not have kicked in. I tried this with these fields and I get that all too descriptive "field is required message." To make employee a PA-CHANGE-ONLY field, f6 would equal the field "employee"? I can send or post the .uwf and .xls files that I'm using, if that's helpful. We have way too many product lines here to keep doing hr10 changes manually so this would be really helpful.
Thanks.

You need to plug in the INTERNAL field number from PADICT2.
"Employee" = 1
"Status" = 20
I can send you a Crystal report that will print out the field numbers, etc. for "handy reference"...

Thanks. I have ODBC here so I can get to the field values (one little victory)!
company fc f5 F6 PA Results from HR10.1
10 C E1 20 X Change Complete -
I tried to change status (20) but don't see the results in Lawson Portal.
Thanks.

You need to use 'tmcontrol' utility via LID to reload the form into memory, as the HR09/HR10 values are cached in Portal. See this article for more info:

Thanks. I'll see if that helps. I went to the DBA's computer and pulled this up in LID but the change still isn't there. Is this a problem that transcends Portal? In other words, do you need to do this every time regardless of presentation layer?

My .uwf must be wrong; the tmcontrol utiilty that the DBA ran didn't fix this. I'll play around. Thank you very much.

Below is a topica reply to this same question. I'm still noodling with this and would love to get this to work:
********
I did a quick test to see if I could change the History field. Here are the fields I needed
Company(f3),Topic(f5),Item Name(f10),Fld #(f6),Hitory flg(f14),H-Item
Name(f17),HK(f117),FC(f9)
The key to making it work seems to be to include the field #, the HK field and a copy of of the field name in field f17.
Hope that helps.

Do you see the change taking effect in LID?
I did, using just f3, f9, f11, and f6.
You might need to do an IOSCacheRefresh in addition to the 'tmcontrol'

Using only those fields, I get "Field is required."
If you can shoot me a screen shot, then I'd appreciate it.

BTW, the last time that the DBA here did tmcontrol, there was no change on hr10, leading me to believe that it's my .UWF.

I'm still noodling with this and found Lawson article 1054552 on splat fields (great name). The example in the article is for AM30.1 but I would think that this would apply to HR10 as well. Would the process be the same as the one for uploading personnel actions? They both involve hidden fields.
Thanks.
