Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to use the Query Wizard to query on HR USER FIELDS and then also utilize the Upload Wizard to mass populate this field on the HR11? I have been trying to, but always receive a message stating there is no data.
Here is the scenario:
We are converting one of our facilities to a new time and attendence system and the new system needs to have a daily hours field in it to properly process certain rules we have set up. In Lawson 9.0.1, we created a numeric user field and named it Shift Length and it will either have a 7.50, 8.00, 10.00 or 12.00 amount entered in it. Typically this is manually entered, but in order to save time and be more accurate we wanted to first run a query to pull all employee's that have anything other than an 8.00 amount entered.
So, I created a query that has the following fields: Company, Process Level, Employee ID, Last Name, First Name, Emp Status so I could collect the appropriate employee's. That query runs great. Since I am trying to pull the employee's that have something other than the 8.00 hour Shift Length field I determined that I also need to find a way to include these fields. I enter the prefix HRU and it translates to HRUSERFLDS where I try to capture the related tables in hrempusf and include the related fields Field Key and N Field. This is where I get lost and run into issues with no data returning. Is this even possible to query these tables and fields?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

You can open a ticket with Lawson and they will send you the add-in to upload to user fields.

Try starting with the HREMPUSF table then picking the related EMPOYEE table for the employee info you need. On the criteria page, choose the HEUSET2 index and put in the Field-Key number for the user field that you want to pull.

I've always found it much easier to use the standard conversion program to upload any user fields, but I have the most recent add-ins template from Lawson - feel free to contact me at stephanie.harris@mail.house.gov and I'll be happy to share.

Try looking on the new Lawson Marketplace on MyLawson. There are many add-in templates you can download for free.

If you want to upload user fields your best bet (other than the conversion file) is to do the upload to HR15.1 not HR11.
HR15.1 will allow you to upload the user fields much easier than HR11 upload.
The fields you will need are
HEU-COMPANY
HEU-EMPLOYEE
HEU-EFFECT-DATE
LINE-FC1
PT-HRU-FIELD-NAME
HRU-FIELD-TYPE1
HRU-FIELD-KEY1
VALUE1
HEU-EMP-APP (Designated Employee or Aplicant)
A-VALUE1
N-VALUE1
D-VALUE1
If you are only uploading one of the value types you can just use the appropriate one (Alpha, Numeric or Date)
You will use "A" in the Line FC and upload with Change Only.
This has worked for me and I find it easier than formating the conversion file.

Hello Stephanie,
I will email you shortly. I would love to take a look at this add-ins template. Also, would the hr515 be the best bet for uploading the specific user field to the HR11?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff - sorry I missed this last week - I didn't see any likely e-mail in my spam filter, so I'm assuming you haven't reached out yet. Yes, in my opinion, I've always found the HR515 easier to use than the add-ins for user fields (and I do use the add-ins frequently). I've always been of the opinion that the add-ins are a complement to standard programs - they work terrific for some things, conversion programs work terrific for others. I'll be happy to send you a formatted file that I use for user fields as an example, too, if you'd like. Look forward to hearing from you
