We implemented a Roth 401k plan in 2010. On the deduction code set up, we have the employee after tax deduction code set to tax status 16 for 401(k) Roth and the Company Match after tax deduction code set to tax status blank or aftertax.
Because of this, we cannot link the deductions. And when we process some manual checks without the employee deduction, the company match is still taken. This has to be corrected.
To correct this, we want to update the tax status for the Company Match after tax deduction code to 16 for 401(k) Roth but we are not sure if this will impact any other payroll processing or reporting.
We are testing and we think the answer is no, but if there's any additional info available then please point us to it so we can review and thank in advance.

Hey David,
I am the technical lead on our HR suite modules (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Absence Management, PA module, etc). I work in Boston and live near Nashua, NH. We have been on Lawson for 12 years. We had a similar situation with one of our retirement deduction set ups and some deduction codes depend on others being taken out. Unfortunately, I had to customize the COBOL back end library called PRUEDED to make our company policy work. This library is called by the programs PR140, PR80 and PR89 and maybe some others ? If you need anything else, feel free to contact me
