I have a question about several employees that are exceeding their PTO accrual limits. We have a yearly PTO buyback program where employees elect to sell back a certain number of PTO hours. The PTO Buyback was a custom that was written for us a few years ago. We are currently seeing an issue with employees that have participated in the PTO buyback. These are the employees that are exceeding their PTO accrual limits. The way the PTO buyback is setup is the PTO the employee accrues every pay period is put into the Reserved Hours in Lawson until it equals the amount of PTO they elected to sell. The total amount of PTO hours is calculated by adding the Available Hours and Reserved Hours. What we are seeing is Lawson is only looking at the Available Hours when calculating accrual limits, the Reserved Hours are ignored. So for example we have an employee that has the following PTO balances: Available Hours = 420, Reserved Hours = 70, so she has a total of 490 PTO hours. Her PTO limit is supposed to be 431, so she has exceeded her limit by 59 hours, but she is still accruing because her Available Hours are 420. My question is this, is there a way to have Lawson calculate the total PTO as the Available Hours plus the Reserved Hours instead of just looking at the Available Hours? I have looked at LP07, but am not sure exactly what it does.

      Jason,

If I am understanding correctly.  You have a plan that accrues hours, then, if the employee sold hours, the accrual is moved to Reserved.

If your plan is set to use Annual Accrual Limits on LP03.4, I would expect the accrual to stop when it should since it should be tracking the number of hours accrued, which is independent of the transfer to Reserved.  Documentation does state that Reserve hours will not be subject to limit checks or carryover processing, but I would think that only applies to the On-going Balance Limit check - not to the Annual Accrual limit.  If that's what you're seeing, I'd log it as an issue with Infor.

I am wondering whether I understand your set up because your comment about LP07 confuses me.  Limiting the accruals should not require anything special on LP07 to combine the reserve and regular amounts,... I must be misunderstanding something...

If you'd upload your LP201, I'd be happy to take a look at it.

        Karen,

Thanks for your reply. So as far as you know the Reserved Hours are not subject to limit checks in Lawson? I think this is the issue we are seeing, that only Available Hours are being checked and Reserved Hours are not, I am just trying to verify. What would be the easiest way to upload my LP201?

        Thanks,

        Jason
