I need to set up a savings bond benefit plan.  We will have seven different face values available for purchase.  Does anyone have any examples of savings bond setup that would help stream line our learning curve?  Thanks in advance.

Sorry if I'm too late for you - we set up separate BN15 plans for every denomination SB we offer (12 plans) - Main page - coverage type 0 No coverage, contribution type 5 contribution limits. Eligible - appropriate ee group. Deduction page - your deduction set up, Misc page Value - full value of bond Cost - ee cost to purchase a single bond.  Entry rule is standard based on your policy.  Contribution type - we only entered the minimum an employee can contribute per pay period.  Good luck!!

Thanks Stephanie.  I have already set them up and we are in the process of testing.  Your information still helps since it validates mine!  That makes me feel better.

I am now working on a program to transmit purchased bond information to the bank.   This file will need to be built when the BN140 is run.  Does your company do anything similar?

Yes we do, but since we're federal government, we send our file directly to the federal reserve, not a bank. Our program actually uses the output from BN140, and makes only a slight formatting change because of the submission directly to the FR. I'm curious - why can't you use the output from the standard BN140 instead of creating a new file?

When you say the output from BN140, are you refering to an output file generated?  Lawson documentation says a file is not created.  I would love to use what Lawson generates if you can point me in the right direction.

My sincerest apologies for the late reply, and even bigger apologies for my answer - you are correct, there isn't a file produced by BN140. However, we did take the output from that and formatted it per the Treasury's requirement.  Sorry if I got your hopes up

I would use Crystal Reports to pull the information for the Treasury if there is not a simple process within Lawson.
