In Lawson there is a way to handle exempting employees completely from federal tax without PR having to manually exempt them?  When we prepare the incentive payments, employees have the option of exempting the federal tax from the payment.  However, they have to contact PR, fill out manually a W4 and send it to them.  They then manually exempts the employee and then once the payment is processed has to reverse the exemption.  Is there an easier way to handle this?

I'm sure I'll step all over myself with this answer, since I'm far from a payroll processing guru. If you have unused deduction cycles, I think you can set up one of them with a 'X' for all desired deductions including federal tax, but set up each individual employees with a 'T' for that cycle on your federal tax deduction. Ten select that cycle when you enter a manual payment or run PR140...Hopefully that will give you an idea, and I'm not leading you astray...
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
