When you upgrade to 9.0 applications, do you already have to have the 9.0 applications separately installed? Or do the 8.1 to 9.0 Upgrade programs do that for you? Trying to clarify... the 8.1 to 9.0 Upgrade manuals say that you need to have the 9.0 applications already installed prior to doing the upgrade, but I'm gathering that the upgrade process also upgrades the 8.1 programs to 9.0. If that's so, why would you also need the 9.0 applications already installed?

You would need to install the 9.0 Apps. We went from 8.03 to 9.0. We had a product line that was the 9.0 apps (target) and a product line with our 8.03 (source) The upgrade program takes the tables from the 8.03 source and converts to the 9.0 target
