I need to make a change to a PA form in out test1 directory. I've moved a copy of the form's xml to ....\apps\persistdata\lawson\portal\content\forms which is where all the other forms we are working on are located.

My problem is that Design Studio does not appear to see the form. When I go to the UI designer and enter the product line all the OTHER forms are listed in the box but this one isnt.

I know im making some kind of basic mistake...any ideas?

Have you rebuild the custom form index/analysis/assign the form to the prodline via Portal administration?

No I just dragged and dropped the xml file. Is there something I need to do to inform DS that it exists? Is there a procedure in the manual you could point me to?

Is it a customized PA form that you dragged and dropped? If so, what prodline was it in?

when you drag and drop the customized form, it still resides in the original prodline.
So you need to go to portal administration > set custom forms data area > choose the xml file and reassign it to a new data area.
once that is done, you will be able to open the xml file in the new prodline within design studio > existing > data area > find.

No it's a plain vanilla lawson form that I grabed from ...\hrsrc.

(At some point a long time ago I think someone was trying to work on a mod of the form but thats outdated now - that old mod is visible)

If it's lawson delivered form, you can just do the following to open it up:

design studio > NEW tab, choose UI designer > ok
              select the prodline > next
select the system code (hrsrc = HR) > next
then pick the form... save it to a different name as customized form...
