Has anyone else been encountering "Error: 4 - No RptMap found" errors in prtmgr? We get this regularly since upgrading to the 8.0.3 environment. This is similar to the case described by KB article 1093356.

The article indicates that users need read access to the "*.rmp" files in $LAWDIR/<prodline>/rptmap/default/archive. However, we get these errors unless we give all users write access to the *.rmp files too, even though the users do not update the *.rmp files.

Support was not able to explain why users seem to need write access, although the documented requirement is for read access.

Are you Windows? I have seen this issue before--particularly with LSF9--if you don't do the permsmaint -b 1. As for why they need write access, well if you read the KB article carefully it does say "at least Read" ;) My guess would be that it's a bug that opens the file read-write....
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

This is on Unix. I think that it is a bug, but I guess it is a low priority to fix. The workaround is to do a chmod 660 on all the rmp files.
