We have recently installed an LSF 9.0.1.9 Lawson system on an AIX 7.1 server using MS ADAM on a seperate machine. The DB is DB2 and also resides on its own physical machine.
The portal seems to run very slow upon initial login to the system and upon drilling / inquiring on data.  Does anyone have any performance tips that may help this situation out.  Thanks in advance.

We had this issue initially when moving to 9019. There was/is an environment update that deals with drills, and performance.. Let me look and see if I still have that patch number.

I can't find the patch number, but if your upgrade involved new hardware, make sure that all of your security got loaded. I noticed that was what led to a lack of performance on drills and screen transfers earlier. Specifically any custom elements and/or element groups.

Greg, thanks for the response. This was a new installation and not an upgrade. So security really did not get migrated over, just did some quick LAUA stuff. The system is also patched up for the enviornment and portal levels ....... Any thoughts

Do your users load LBI as their home page in Portal? (ie. Do you have LBI and Portal integrated?)

we had the same problem last month when we upgraded our system from 9.0.1.7 to 9.0.1.10, we are on windows 2003 32 bit. LSFCT_NT_09000110P16816.zip(JT-336259) fixed the issue for us.

Greg, We do not even have LBI installed yet. That is the odd thing.

Balaji, I will check the JT you had mentioned but I am 99% sure we are patched up on both the env and portal layers

When you get to install LBI- do not use the recommended (documented) settings for connections for the data sources. I think they have you configure the data sources at 10 max for FrameworkServices, 30 max for ReportingServices, and 10 max for SmartNotifications. We've had to set them much higher. Go to the was admin console, Resources | JDBC | Data Sources | | Connection pool properties.

We have ours set to a max of 200 connections each - per a Lawson tech.

Yes, absolutely no bearing on current problem.

Are you using the Tivoli Performance Viewer in Websphere?  I'd start by turning on the request metrics so that you can at least find out where in the servlet the bottleneck is.

I have not yet turned on the performance viewer ..... I will try that and see what it tells me.
