We are trying to set up a DR box with all of our data ready to go.  We have a SAN that is set up to replicate all the data on it to another box and that comes up fine.  However, Tivoli was installed into /opt and we are having problems starting it.  We have copied all the files we believe are used for Tivoli but it will only start in config mode.  Does anyone have a document that outlines exactly what to files to copy, etc....?  I haven't been able to find a good DR document on Lawson's website.

    Thank you for your help.

We didn't have that issue with Tivoli, it started up fine at the DR site. Two possible differences. First of all, our SAN was configured to continuously copy all the filesystems (at least all the ones used by applications) to the DR site, including the one with all the Tivoli software, which was not OPT. (We installed tivoli into a filesystem named for the environment, to allow for the possiblity of having multiple TDS installs, one per environment.) So Rather than figure out what to copy from the original site to the DR site, we copy globally and have a list of what to change on the DR system. Another difference, don't know if it matters, but in both systems we use a DNS alias to refer to the host. And TDS and other installed products are generally configured to refer to the alias as the hostname, rather than the "real" hostname. The point is that the alias is the same on both servers. In a recovery situation, we would update DNS to point the alias name to the DR server rather than the production server.

Thanks Ben. Our problem lies with having it in /OPT. We may be missing a file or a configuration change but we don't know what it is at the moment. I have heard that Lawson had a DR document that they have taken off their website and was hoping someone had a copy they could send to me. Thanks again.
