Technology batch bundle error

    ran updates from 9.0.0.6 env to 9.0.0.8 -

    did env then portal.

    working fine.

     

    tried the new bundle patch (9.0.0.8.353) - errors out

    Error: failed to load inst-gendir-coreadmin/bin/launtdll.dll to E:\lawtest\gen\bin\launtdll.dll - delete failed

     

    The uninstall also failed, any ideas how to get this bundle patch installed - must I do a uninstall first, redeploy or can I try to restat back to 9.0.0.8.177.

     

    windows 2003, sql 2005

     

    i also have print screen of error, if needed.

      1) Change your lawson services to manual on your environment server. (Administrative Tools > Services) Then restart.
      2) Rerun the baseline(bundle) patch and choose reload/redeploy, then it should run through without the error.
      3) Change your lawson services back to automatic if it's originally on automatic. I keep mine on manual and when i bounce the server, i just do startlaw to manually start lawson.
       

      The problem was the dll file was in use. So the patch could not delete and replace the dll file. By restarting the server with lawson service off. The bundled patch will be able to patch the file.

        I had the same issue, found this post. Just updating:
        After making sure the service is stopped, I'm still getting the same error. I found that initluu.exe is also using the file. I logged off the cmdline session and used the windows GUI to install the LSFCT_xxx.jar file. There were errors at the end regarding security:

        Error: Failed to open the Lawson Environment Service. Error code 5 Access is denied.
        Error: Failed to open the Lawson Environment Service. Error code 5 Access is denied.
        Error: Error: Failed to open the Lawson Environment Service. Error code 5 Access is denied.
        Error: Fatal: [install-core.pl] exit status 228
        Access Denied. Administrator permissions are needed to use the selected options. Use an administrator command prompt to complete these tasks.
        Error: Activating Core Admin Utilities failed.

        I reran the patch using the cmdline console and picked 'Restart'

        The install completed.
