"Writer already obtained" error in WAS systemout.log and ios.log

    After applying a series of patches on Friday evening (several technology and application patches), we started seeing the following error in the WAS systemout.log and ios.log, "Writer already obtained". The full text of the error is the following:

    0000014b webapp        E com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.webapp.WebApp logServletError SRVE0293E: [Servlet Error]-[FileMgr]: java.lang.IllegalStateException: SRVE0209E: Writer already obtained

    The error does not appear to be giving any error message in the Lawson application and we are unable to replicate the issue in our test environment. Lawson has asked to turn on the debug logging for ios. Just curious if anyone has run into this issue before.

      I once got this error after putting in a WebSphere Fixpack - the Bouncy Castle files were overwritten during the install.

        Thanks msjmg111, that very well could be it. One of the patches did say it was updating Bouncy Castle.
