    Hey,

I'm looking to see if it is possible to lock the pay field so that you can't see it for just certain departments. Like say ER there is a sec class called eradmin. Lock the pay field for them so they can't see say erdirector but they can see every other class? Is that possible or is it just a all or nothing?

    Thanks
    Kevin

No one ever have to do something like this before?

Kevin, I do remember doing that for a client a while back. It was a pain, in that it required touching a lot of places in LAUA & HR security (element rules, drill/file security, etc.)
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

At least I'm on the right track then. Looking at hr02, hr09, hr10, and hr12. I know I've had to lock down fields before, but couldn't remember all the steps. Guess I'll have to dig around some more.

I've done it and man it is a pain...I would tell you all the places but like it was stated before it is in alot of places.  It would be nice if Lawson would provide some type of listing to show where FICA-NBR is located in "all" places but i haven't found one yet...but you can use the drill explorer to find out what files to look in...

I am so sorry Kevin, I mentioned FICA-NBR and it is not identified that way, (that is actually SS#, I dealing with another issue - multi tasking) but pay is identified in many different formats, it can be identified as a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly...so there are many more places to look to secure it especially in drill around...
