Is there some way to script the import of rights?
I can create a file with what I need to import, but don't want to go through the wizard on a daily basis.
Everyone here should have at least one right imported automatically and with our ever-changing workforce, it would be nice to auto-load at least this one (or two) rights.
Any ideas?

You can do this by updating the LBI repository tables directly.

Greg,
If you have the information, can you include that as a datasource in your report and burst off of it that way in place of building and maintaining rights?
I know on this topic I seem to be in the minority as over 95% of what we build we burst off from data in the report and not use rights.

Chris: Thanks.
How do you figure out which table(s) the import wizard updates?

I've done this before. I'll need to dig up my old notes and follow up.

So, Mark- what you are saying is you have created a table, a text file, (or something) with the information in it that you include in your Crystal report and burst off of it that way? I'd really like to talk more about this, if you have the time!!

I would also be interested in how others accomplish this. I understand how to burst data based on information in the report. I have a few that we query in the user ID of management and burst on that but to get pst the first line of management that method becomes tricky. We hired a consultant to try and auto generate this for us a few years back and after a lot of money down the tube we still did not get it to work. We have upgraded to 9.0 since then so maybe it is time to revisit.

Chris: I'd appreciate if you have the time if you would dig up the old notes. -For rights, and auto-import of delivery devices to reporting services as well, if that is available.

Sorry Greg, this got lost in the shuffle with the holidays.
The only notes I could find were related to pulling rights out of RS.

Thanks, Chris.
That will at least get us started. I'll try to update as I learn more.
