    Hello,

I'm developing a Crystal report to be published into LBI.  The report pulls data from Lawson but also from a Kronos database.  I can develop the report in Crystal with both data sources just fine, but my question is - when I publish the report into LBI I currently use the "Data Settings" tab in the LBI "Report Settings" screen to override my report's data source.  Our LBI administrators have asked us to do this so they can maintain the data access user-id and password.  However, this override data source seems to point to only one data source - Lawson, whereas my report will need to have two datasources, Lawson and Kronos.

Has anyone dealt with this situation?

What version of LBI are you on?

This should work seemlessly, where-as you will have two Override Data Source drop down boxes to select from. All youll need to do then is create a the Data Source pointing to the Kronos database.

      hth,
      Matt

        Thanks, Matthew

I didn't realize that I'd end up with two Override Data Source drop down boxes once I had a report that needed two. I was probably jumping the gun in asking the question before I had done the test.

Thanks a lot for the heads up.

          Hello Jan,

I was wondering if you were able to test Matthew's solution to your two datasource report, publishing into LBI. If you were successfull, I would like to know, because I have couple of reports that are using multiple datasources and I am still trying to find a way to publish those reports are they need to be bursted.

          Thanks,
          Raj.

            Hello Raj,

I haven't been able to check this out yet. I have a request in to I.T. to set up a LBI Data Source into Kronos - haven't gotten a response back on that yet, though. Once I get to the point where I've got something to test, I'll post the results to this thread.

If you'll use a method to connect other ODBC (I use native Oracle for example), you don't have to set up a data source on LBI. Plus, I've found native Oracle to be much faster. Hoping that helps..
