We are currently working on rolling out LBI for our leadership team. One of the things I would like to do is utilize the functionality of Crystal Reports and Xcelsius to develop some interactive charts of employee reviews, certifications, turnover etc.

I am not having very good luck with it at this point and before I spend money and time trying to learn more about Xcelsius I wanted to ask the group here if anyone has been succesful at publishing a Crystal Report with an embeded Xcelsius .SWF and utilized the LBI bursting with that report and had the xcelsius data work correctly with the bursting.

    Anyone?

    Thanks

Dave - I am not sure how much you know about Xcelsius, but I'll give you some notes from working with it. First, if you want to create an Xcelsius visualization and publish that to LBI, then you most likely will have to have a static Excel worksheet as the datasource and it is published as a non-crystal document and Rights Management will not apply to that document, the data will only update when you update the Excel worksheet in the Visualization and republish the document. If you want to embed an Xcelsius visualization into a Crystal Report and then publish that Crystal Report to LBI, it would follow the same rules as any other Crystal Report you publish to LBI. Rights Management will filter the data based on bursting you setup for that report. Hope this helps.

        Thanks

I have been able to get a static excel model to work without issue. So my goal was to take it to the next level and make some interactive data visualization models that could be published in Crystal and utilize the bursting in LBI. I just can not get the xcelsius model to work after I embed it into my crystal report, it just will not take the data after mapping the fields.

I appreciate the input. Every bit helps.

        Thanks
        Dave
