Reporting Services offers 4 types of "Report Events". These are defined in the UG as a "user exit that allows for a specific user-defined report task to be performed at a predetermined time."
The one example given is that of a logging program which tracks the amount of time it takes for the report to run.
Is anyone out there in Lawson/Infor Guru-land using this feature? Can you share a business application that you find useful for this?
Thanks for your time!

Robby,
This is a very difficult task. I tried writing a custom program to track statistics 3 years ago or so and the real problem is linking the Report Request Event to the related Report Completed event. The possibility of multiple calls of the same report by multiple users makes it impossible to determine without attaching to the java session. this requires injecting server side code in to the LBI EAR file that is deployed to WebSphere.
if this is something you really need just upgrade to 10.2, these features are built in.
hth,
matt

Matthew,
Thanks,
Actually, i couldn't think of a reason to use Report Events, I was just curious as to whether anyone else uses it and for what....
When you say "these features are built in." are you referring to the statistics or the event programming?
