Need prior quarter year to date

    I need a report that has current balance (balance sheet accounts)

    and current year prior quarter balances. I cannot find a data dictionary

    item for the curr yr prior qtr balances.

      GLAmounts holds the data, GLChartDtl will tell you which are balance sheet

        I used to just do an offset. Current year less 3 periods. Inform users that it is an offset and not always just a quarter end.

          I tried doing an offset current period minus 3, but it wouldn't

          take that parameter. Can you tell me exactly what I should be entering? I'm really new to this.

            I don't have access to Lawson anymore to see exactly what the syntax is, but I think it is something like Prior Period with a parameter for how far back to go. It is a data dictionary item.

                If you are creating a Crystal Report, you can run a dbdoc on GLAMOUNTS and see what fields to use ... but ... watch out for "Derived" fields. Run the Derived Field Report 'derfldrpt' to see how the derived fields are calculated, then create your own formulas to match. Or, even better, create a Database View with the Derived fields in it.
