We are nearing the finish of implementing LBI here in a brand new Lawson setup (version 9.0 for all).

We've got everything working up through creating the datacube...almost. Running IA150 will create the .csv's, upload them to the ftp site, and then stop. The installer believes that the issue is that we need to setup IIS on the sql cluster, add the msmdpump.dll, create the application pool, etc, and that should be the end of it.

However, our DB and security teams are very much against the idea of running IIS on the production SQL clusters unless there's absolutely no alternative, and I can't say as I blame them. However, i'm not really finding any official Lawson documentation showing this setup, let alone stating that it won't work without IIS on the SQL.

So we have a trainer here on site today to begin training on LBI, and working with us to design our implementation. He mentioned that this isn't the first time he's heard these concerns, and mentioned that one solution, unspported, is to use stored procs to pull the ftp'd csv files and build the data cubes.

Anyone have experience with this, and want to shed some more light on it? Installer claims he's "heard" of it, but of course there's no official documentation within Lawson's KB. I can't believe the only solution is to add IIS directly on to the SQL server.

    Thanks,

    Brian
