We have several reports published in Reporting Services (9.0.4.1.156version) all of the reports are written in Crystal 2008 and have parameters. When I request the report(in LBI) (on demand) it takes 30 seconds to return the parameter screen. Does anyone have suggestions on how to speed this up? This is a new install so any fine tuning suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks

What Crystal drivers are you using in the report? There is a crystal odbc driver that might speed it up some.

Would I download those drivers from SAP or is there a better place? Are they free or is there a cost?

I guess what Mark is referring to is the odbc drivers from Lawson or the native odbc deivers from crystal that may be present on the sap website now.
Also in crystal 2008 when you click on the file menu and choose report options check to see whether the option
" Use Indexes or Server for Speed " is checked.

WRB,
This stuff is hard to troubleshoot. There is some documentation about ODBC drivers listed in the RS User Guide under creating and maintaining data source connections (pg 119). Additionally take a look at these knowledge base articles: KB 5371204 (64 bit odbc for RAS), kb 559427 Crystal SP download, kb 558229 RAS updates.
I was on my server when I saw your post and had the links to the SAP support site handy.

Hello everyone I want first to thank you for your replies. Second I want to share with you what corrected our problem. Our reports were taking 40 seconds to render the parameter screen for any ODBC published report. Here is how we created the problem. In Crystal we went to File / Page Setup / and had to check the No Printer( optimize for screen display). Once we checked that printer option and republished the report the parameters screen now renders in 3 seconds. Thanks again for all of the comments.
