    All:

I am trying to upgrade LBI.  Currently on v9.0.1.8 on Tomcat want to go to v9.0.3.x on Websphere.

Here's the situation:  In order to do this, we needed to buy new servers (old ones didn't meet the requirements).  I have WAS installed, and CR, and RAS, etc.

Installed LBI v9.0.1.10 into WebSphere as a new install.  Had our DBA copy the current prod version into the new schemas.

What's the best way to go about changing all of the required server names in all of the databases, and config files, etc.  I pull up the installvalidator for FS, and it still has the old server name in it, as expected.  There seems to exist this name in a LOT of obscure places and I just don't want to actually be mistakenly affecting our current prod version when I'm testing the "install/upgrade".

Anyone had this happen and willing to share some "gotchas"?

    Thanks,

    -Greg

Changing server names in the old version of LBI is very difficult. They seem to store that information in binary fields that arent accessible via the UI.

If I were you Id upgrade from 9.0.1.8 -> 9.0.1.10 -> 9.0.2.2 -> 9.0.3 - > 9.0.3.1 all on tomcat, THEN install 9.0.3.1 on your new server and repoint the DBs, run the install validator, change the names, reregister your services, check in the web.xml and sysconfig.xml files.

Post your results, Id be curious to know how this works.

        Hi,

I just lived through a domain migration of our LBI server and survived.  I just joined a new company and the system admin quit.  I inherited the LBI app and have learned the hard way how to support it.  Our network team migrated the server to a new domain name and the LBI app would no longer run.  I worked for a month with GSC to undo the damage.  There was only one table in the database which needed to be updated.  Websphere needed to be reconfigured to point to the new domain name.  GSC helped me reinstall DSSO.  Once I got Framework services up and running I had to point all the dashboards to the right location.  If you have more questions I am at joanna.bledsoe@jhsmh.org
