Hello
I have an employee roster report that is created on a schedule each everning and creates an Excel spreadsheet available as a link through our self service web page. Users have stopped using the report because it can take from 30 seconds to a minute to open the report - there are about 8,500 lines in the report.
On my machine, I have a mapping to the server where this report resides. If I go directly to the server folder and open the spreadsheet, it opens in a couple of seconds.
I realize when I open through LBI, various authentications are occuring, and the report is downloading from LBI rather than being opened directly from the server, but what could cause such a drastic difference in open times?
I'm looking for some items to look for so I can talk to I.T. and try to figure out a way to speed access times up.
thanks in advance for any help you can give me
