    Hi,

I would like to have row level security in Crystal for Lawson data in HR/PR/BN modules.

What Row level security means in this context is the user has access to the data entered by him and few other users.

Has anyone handled this before in Crystal Reports.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Are the userid's associated to the records in the report? If so, you can use Elements, Structures and User/Group Rules to burst the report.

What are you using to deliver the Crystal Reports?  If youre using the LBI applicaiton Reporting Services, you can using Rights Management as David mentioned if the records are associated to the userid.  If this isnt case, you can also manually construct a file that creates this association and, using the upload tool within Reporting Services, create rights that will accomplish this.

If you are using Business Objects Enterprise you can accomplish this using BusinessViews.

If none of these are an option you can apply the security at the database level but it will require creating individual logins for each user.

        hth,

        Matt

Can you explain that a little more? Do you mean you only want reports to include records actually entered by certain individuals? For instance, do you have a decentralized HR function that enters employee information only for employees in certain departments, etc. ?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
