Inventory Control for Laboratory <?>

Our lab supply room is a PAR location but making it an inventory (asset) location would be simple enough as far as Lawson goes. The tough part is maintaining control over the supplies. If your lab supply room is anything like ours there are many people coming in and out taking supplies. How would you maintain accurate counts? I suppose you could just run a PI daily and charge the variance to the lab. But we have General Chem, Histology, Serology, Hematology all pulling from the same room. Would you want to throw an FTE at it to control the flow of supplies? We would not.
