Ever since we went live with version 10 we have had printing issues. The scheduled jobs (WH130) run, but random picks do not print. When we attempt to print from PO30, IC175, while messages states job successful/printed, the documents do not print.

This is very random, sometimes print, other times do not. Has anyone else experienced inconsistent printing since going live with version 10 ?

I have not experienced this behavior, but the first thing that comes to mind is checking the printer drivers are most appropriate. Although if this is happening to many different model printers that's probably not the issue. If it's only certain printer models, then I would definitely investigate new drivers.

When it doesn't print, it would be good to know whether the Lawson print queue received the print request and went down or if it never even got the request.

If the printer queue never received the print request then maybe there is some communication issue which would warrant network experts tracing the traffic.

If the request is getting to the printer you can do "lpstat -pPrinterName" to check the status of it and potentially "enable" it, and "cancel" any job numbers that aren't processing, but beyond that your OS system admin would probably need to work with Infor to locate the pertinent logs. In my experience I've only seen print queues go down when a print job comes through with a very large block size which was due to staff not following the correct processes. I've not seen that occur with automated print jobs setup in recdef.

Sometimes we have had a problem where the default printer was not setup correctly for the user and it would print at the wrong printer. For jobs defined in recdef I have not seen this.  One other issue we have had in the past is the same IP address assigned to two different devices.  One to the printer and the other to a PC.
