    Hello everyone,

I am new to Lawson. I am trying to understand the relationship between Delivery Location and Cost Center when creating a requisition, how to charge a specific department for the items in the requisition that will be delivered to a specific location.

    Please advise.

    Thanks and Regards

    Anh

Hi, the requesting location (RQ01) is used for directing where to send the supplies. So a cost center (issue account- account unit) may have more than one 'location'. If your account is 6140 - Nursing fourth floor, you may have RQ01 requesting locations of 6140A for supply room and 6140B for Nurse station etc.

IC81 par locations will also show as a requesting location which will tie the par location list of items back to a account unit (cost center) as well.

Hope that helps, (I am sure there are more detailed explanations and ways of using these as well).

A delivery location is a combination of:

        1.    Requesting location: the delivery location.  Either an ordering location or a par location, this is setup with a default accounting unit and from location on RQ01.

        2.    Accounting Unit: the cost center. This is the department charged for the items.

        3.    From Location: the dock/warehouse associated with the location. These are setup in IC02 and match the req loc for perpetual inventory locations.

These three elements can be mixed and match at will and users and buyers can override the defaults set on RQ01.

I've got the various combos we use attached.
