I need to reference the Portal session variable that contains employee number for use in an HTTP string.

I was trying to use the "employee" attribute as it appears in http://server/servlet/profile

Can anyone share the correct syntax to grab a Portal session variable?
ie: http://urlstring/ID=<"employee">
