IC15

IC15.1 - Storage Codes

Use Storage Codes (IC15.1) to set up bin storage codes. Bin storage
codes define bin storage limitations in terms of size, weight, and quantity.
This form is optional if you use bin control in the Inventory Control
application.

**More Information

You can assign storage codes to bins in IC15.2 (Bins) and to inventory
items in IC12.1 (Item Location) or IC10.2 (Item Master and Location). If you
try to put an item receipt into a bin that is not assigned to the item's
storage
code, a warning message displays. You can inquire on bins by storage code
using IC51.1 (Available Bin Space) to determine where there is sufficient
room to store an item.

IC15.2 - Bins

Use Bins (IC15.2) to set up bins. Bins represent a level of storage
that exists within a company location such as areas, racks, shelves, and
rows.

**More Information

Bin tracking is optional in the Inventory Control application and is
assigned at the item location level in IC12.1 (Item Location) or IC10.2 (Item
Master and Location). If an item is set up for bin tracking, a bin must be
specified for every transaction, such as issues or receipts, which you enter
for the item.
If you set up bins, you can optionally assign bin usage types and storage
codes. Bin usage types, defined in IC01.3, restrict issues and receipts.
Storage
codes, defined in IC15.1, define physical bin limitations. After bins are
set up, you can optionally set up bin groups in IC15.3 (Bin Groups).

IC15.3 - Bin Groups

Use Bin Groups (IC15.3) to set up bin groups. Bins must be set up in
IC15.2 (Bins) before you can set up bin groups. Use bin groups to group
certain
bins together. Different bin groups can be processed at various times for
physical inventory counting in the IC70.1 (Select IDs) Class, Bin form.

**Processing Effect

The Inventory Control application assigns sequence numbers as you enter
bins to a bin group. Sequence numbers facilitate physical inventory counting.

**More Information

To insert a new bin and resequence lines, select the form action X and
type the number of lines that are to be inserted.
