AM20.1 - Quick Addition
This program allows you to add assets with minimal keying. This program
requires the use of addition templates. This is an optional asset addition
program that is much faster than manually entering an asset. At least one item
must be defined and a maximum of seven item lines can be defined. This program
adds asset and asset book information automatically. Using this program, you
can override all defaulting information from a template code applicable to an
asset. You cannot override defaulting information from a template code
applicable to an asset book.
Once you have added asset information using this program, the program
automatically navigates to the general ledger entry program where you can add,
change, or accept system-prompted entries. The general ledger date defaults
from the posting book in-service date. If multiple items exist, the system
uses the most recent date for each item. You can then manually maintain all
asset addition information.

AM20.2 - Additions and Adjustments
This program is required if you do not use addition templates or if you add
more than seven items. You define general information for an asset in this
program.
The default accounting unit is required if any of the accounting units is not
defined for the accounting unit group or the accounting unit group field is
empty. Once you add the asset information, the program automatically navigates
to the item definition program.
If you release transactions that include user analysis values, complete the
Strategic Ledger Processing cycle to analyze profitability. Use SL40.1 (Error
Transaction Edit) to view and correct transaction errors and SL90.1 (Strategic
Ledger Transaction Analysis) to display transactions.

You must define at least one item, and there is no maximum number of items
that can be defined. To verify the item total quantity and cost, you can
optionally enter control totals prior to adding each item. Once you add items,
the program automatically navigates to the asset book definition program.

AM20.4 - Books
Use this program to add additional books or modify existing books. The
depreciable basis defaults from the total item cost. The in-service date
defaults from the item purchase date. If multiple items with different
purchase dates are entered, the latest purchase date defaults. The in-service
convention defaults from the book definition (defined in AM00.1). The only
required information is the depreciation method and asset life in months. All
default information can be overridden.
Once you use this program to add asset books, the program automatically
navigates to AM20.5 (Journal Entries), the general ledger entry program where
you can add, change, or accept system-prompted entries. The general ledger
date defaults from the posting book in-service date. Once you have added
assets, they can be released (updated) either one at a time online using
AM20.2 (Additions and Adjustments) or in mass using AM170 (Processing
Release).

Use this subform to define depreciation projections based on depreciation
method, in-service date, convention, basis, and optional depreciation factors
such as salvage amount or salvage percent and table year. After defining the
projection you want to look at, press OK. AM20.8 (Projection Detail) displays
detailed information for the projection you defined.
